FPL Deadline Reminder: Free Push Alerts Before Every Gameweek
Forgetting the deadline costs more points than most bad transfers. Here's how to make sure it never happens again.
FPL Pulse sends free push notifications before every FPL deadline. Sign in, open your Profile, tap Enable under Push Notifications, and pick how early you want the first reminder. You'll get follow-ups as the deadline gets closer, all the way down to 15 minutes before.
Why FPL deadlines are so easy to miss
The FPL deadline is 90 minutes before the first kick-off of the gameweek, and that first kick-off moves constantly. One week it's Saturday morning, the next it's a Friday night game, then a midweek round lands on a Tuesday. Rearranged fixtures shift it again with little warning.
Miss it and the damage is real: your free transfer rolls but your injured player stays in, your captain might not be playing, and a planned chip sits unused. Plenty of mini-leagues have been decided by one manager who forgot a Friday deadline.
How to set up FPL deadline reminders
- Sign in to FPL Pulse. A free account is all you need.
- Open your Profile and find Push Notifications.
- Tap Enable and allow notifications when your browser asks.
- Choose your first reminder. Deadline Reminder is on by default at 1 hour before. Change it to 1 day, 2 hours, 30 minutes or 15 minutes if you prefer.
That's it. Tapping a reminder takes you straight to your team, so you can check your captain and transfers before you head to the official game.
Which reminders you'll get
You pick the earliest reminder, and you also get every one after it. A single alert is easy to swipe away; the follow-ups catch you if you do.
| If you choose | You're reminded |
|---|---|
| 1 day before | 1 day, 2 hours, 1 hour, 30 mins and 15 mins before |
| 2 hours before | 2 hours, 1 hour, 30 mins and 15 mins before |
| 1 hour before (default) | 1 hour, 30 mins and 15 mins before |
| 30 minutes before | 30 mins and 15 mins before |
| 15 minutes before | 15 mins before |
Reminders follow FPL's official deadline for the next gameweek, including midweek and rearranged rounds.
Setting it up on iPhone
Apple only allows web push notifications for sites saved to your home screen. On an iPhone or iPad:
- Open fplpulse.com in Safari.
- Tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
- Open FPL Pulse from your home screen, go to your Profile and enable notifications there.
On Android, Windows and Mac you can enable notifications straight from the browser - no install needed.
Make the reminder count: a 5-minute deadline check
A reminder only helps if you know what to check when it lands. Run through this before every deadline:
- Injuries and suspensions. Is anyone in your XI flagged? Bench them or transfer them out.
- Captain. Compare the options on the captain board rather than defaulting to last week's pick.
- Transfers. Use the free one, roll it, or take a hit? The transfer planner shows the next few gameweeks before you commit.
- Bench order. Your first sub comes on first, so put your likeliest starter there.
- Chips. Planning a Bench Boost or Triple Captain? The chip has to be played before the deadline - our chips guide covers the timing.
